Meet Dr. Meghan Stone - Rodeo Vet Turned Hospital Medical Leader at Vetco Total Care.
From rodeo arenas to full-service care in Lewisville, Texas, Dr. Meghan Stone has followed her calling across every terrain and species. A proud graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, she always knew vet med was her path. Her favorite rotations? Clinicals and Theriogenology, both of which ignited her passion for client education and lifelong learning.
Before joining Vetco Total Care, Dr. Stone ran her own mobile large-animal practice in Wyoming and served as the dedicated veterinarian for the College National Finals Rodeo. These days, she brings that same drive, grit and compassion to small-animal general practice at VTC, where she’s become known for her direct approach, soft-tissue surgical skills and deep commitment to strengthening the human-animal bond.
“I’m passionate about helping people and their pets and sometimes just being the one to provide comfort,” Dr. Stone shares. At VTC, she has the freedom to practice medicine her way, without cookie-cutter protocols or red tape. Her favorite parts of the job? The fully equipped surgical suite, top-notch diagnostics and a team who always has her back!
She appreciates leadership that doesn’t just talk about work-life balance, but actually supports it.
“I don’t always know how to manage balance, but my leaders remind me to take time for myself,” she says. With no non-competes, no on-call emergencies, flexible PTO, and built-in mental health support, she’s empowered to care for herself as well as her patients.
When she’s not in the hospital, you can probably find her hiking a trail, getting lost in a book or singing like no one’s listening (ask her about her childhood dreams of Broadway stardom and her current Hollywood crush).
